Electrical Drafter III Location: Corona, CA - Hybrid work schedule CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. CLPE is seeking talented Electrical Drafters with power systems design background to join our engineering team in Corona. Due to the nature of our work with the federal government, candidates must be a US Citizen. - Create professional grade CAD drawings from engineering sketches and concepts utilizing 2D CAD commands in AutoCAD.
- Analyze drawing requirements to determine drawing presentation, layout, and plot scales
- Draft, organize and compile detailed design drawing submittals and construction drawing packages - this includes plan drawings, onelines, schematics, details, schedules, and tables
- Update as-built CAD drawings per field red-lines.
- Draft electrical system operational site maps, single-lines, and schematics under Design Supervisor supervision for all of CLP operations.
- Develop and maintain CAD lisp routines (in AutoCAD) to automate drafting processes
- Create bill of materials (BOMs) for engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance, adhering to local, state, and national electric codes and regulations.
- Maintain power engineering design concepts and fundamentals and apply them in drafting the project drawings
- Keep up to date with latest GIS, CAD, and system modeling software features and use them to improve drafting quality and efficiency.
- Assist with and participate in providing CADD user trainings to new employees within the engineering group.

- Associate degree or similar in CADD, Technology, Design or related field from accredited college preferred
- Five to eight (5-8) years of electrical drafting experience required
- Proficiency in advanced 2D CAD commands in AutoCAD.
- Understanding of medium voltage electrical substations and distribution system configurations and functions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.
- Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish.
Other Requirements:
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Access Clearance.
- Valid driver's license required.

- Hourly payrate range: $38.00-$44.00 based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
