Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Senior Systems Safety Analyst to support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA 299) in support of Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The candidate will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive system safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DoN), Naval Air Systems Command, and MIL-STD-882 requirements. This position requires senior-level expertise to advise government leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with safety standards throughout the program's acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.

The selected candidate will be responsible for not limited to:

  • Lead system safety analyst for PMA 299 platforms that had expertise knowledge on how operators effectively and safely employ the H-60 aircraft and its weapon systems.
  • Advise PMA-299 leadership on risk management, system safety certification, and compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • Provide Safety subject matter expertise during program design reviews, Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and airworthiness reviews with emphasis on system safety.
  • Prepare and present high-level system safety documentation, including Safety Assessment Reports (SARs), Hazard Logs, and program safety case materials.
  • Perform and oversee safety analyses such as Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHAs), and Operating & Support Hazard Analyses (O&HAs).
  • Develop, maintain, and manage hazard tracking systems and ensure the timely resolution of identified hazards.
  • Support mishap investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), test organizations, fleet representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve safety issues.

Qualifications

Requirements

Key Skills:

  • Must have recent Fleet experience serving as an Aviation Safety Officer with demonstrated leadership in aviation safety and risk management.
  • Must have expertise in developing, reviewing, and implementing aviation system safety requirements, hazard analyses, and safety management systems.
  • Must have experience leading aviation safety boards and utilizing safety and risk management tools to support safety analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Minimum Education:

  • A Business, Management, Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least twelve (12) years of recent and relevant professional experience with aircraft tactical systems employment is required. The candidate for this position shall be an O-4 or higher.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.

Compensation

Senior Level: At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $70,000-$200,000; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
