Job Title: Cabling Technician Location: Salinas, CA Employment Type: Contract (with potential for extension or hire) Client: TEKsystems Overview: We're seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Cabling Technician to support structured cabling installations in commercial environments across Salinas, CA. This role involves working at heights, handling overtime, and being part of a fast-paced team focused on delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. Primary Duties and Accountabilities: * Install, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cables and fiber optic lines. * Mount and secure cable trays, j-hooks, and other support structures. * Operate lifts and work at elevated heights safely and confidently. * Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams. * Maintain clean and organized workspaces and adhere to safety protocols. * Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to meet project deadlines. Requirements: * Prior experience in low-voltage or structured cabling preferred. * Comfortable working on lifts and at heights (certification a plus). * Must be open to overtime and flexible scheduling. * Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. * Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail. Additional Info: * PPE and basic hand tools required. * Reliable transportation to and from job sites. * Opportunities for long-term placement based on performance. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
