The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Enrollment is a senior operations leader responsible for advancing Saint Xavier University's mission by overseeing the development, implementation, management, and assessment of operations and strategies to enroll freshmen, transfers, adult undergraduate, and graduate students at Saint Xavier University. The AVP directs the daily functions of Undergraduate Admission, Graduate Admission, and the Transfer Center, ensuring effective recruitment initiatives and operational excellence across the enrollment pipeline. The position leads critical activities, including, but not limited to, lead generation, recruitment communications, yield strategies, leveraging technology, application processing, and managing staff and budgets.
The Assistant Vice President serves as a thought partner with the Vice President of Enrollment, Vice President of Marketing, Executive Director of Institutional Research, the Provost, and many others in developing enrollment and revenue-generating strategies. This position collaborates regularly with department leaders, including deans, faculty, marketing, financial aid, records, advising, student life, athletics, student success, and other relevant teams. The AVP is a highly autonomous problem-solver and change agent who maximizes enrollment and revenue by seeking opportunities to challenge existing thought processes, remove obstacles in the prospective student journey, and drive institutional change. The AVP entrenches themselves in the data to identify opportunities to streamline processes and maximize outcomes, knowing that enrollments and net revenue largely measure success in this role. The ideal AVP candidate is agile, business-minded, and solutions-focused, who adjusts tactics and pivots quickly based on recruitment funnel KPIs. The individual maintains a continual focus and drive on moving the University forward, achieving these goals while serving as a visible and collaboration-inspiring leader who embodies service excellence to students and their families.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, manage, and assess recruitment plans and efforts to increase enrollment and achieve the University's headcount and net revenue goals. * Lead overall admissions operations and contribute to the development of processes, policies, and procedures essential for recruitment and enrollment, such as data management, application processing, use of recruitment databases (Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Colleague), etc. * Implement operational objectives in line with the organization's goals and objectives. * Routinely assess SXU program offerings, application and admission criteria, processes, etc., against our competitor set to ensure market alignment. * Collaborate closely with deans, faculty, marketing, financial aid, and other partners to develop comprehensive enrollment plans and implement and assess recruitment strategies to meet/exceed the objectives of the plan. * Proactively identify problems, challenges, and roadblocks, but more importantly, independently develop and implement solutions and drive institutional change to enhance recruitment and enrollment outcomes. * Select, hire, and manage admission staff and develop benchmarks and productivity indicators to assess performance. * Build comprehensive program-specific recruitment plans that complement and support University marketing plans. * Oversee recruitment communication plans utilizing Technolutions Slate. * Work collaboratively with enrollment and financial aid-leveraging consultants to develop and implement recruitment and aid strategies. * Routinely analyze and report ROI for strategies, initiatives, and recruitment funnel KPIs; measure and monitor conversion rates, application rates, yield, etc. * Manage personnel, operations, and recruitment budgets; prepare mid-year reforecasts and future budget proposals. * Performs other projects as assigned by the Vice President of Enrollment.

Qualifications

* Master's degree required. * A minimum of five to eight years of admissions leadership experience with demonstrated success is required. * Willingness to go the extra mile to bring projects to completion, meet deadlines, etc. * Experience at a private college or university is preferred. * A proven record of driving enrollment growth and net revenue in a competitive higher education environment is essential. * An entrepreneurial spirit and management experience are required. * Superior writing skills and experience creating effective marketing communications are essential. * Strong analytic and reporting ability and organizational skills required. * Strong computer skills using relational databases (Technolutions Slate) and MS Office are necessary. * The ability to manage and organize multiple and diverse projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is vital, as is pivoting to meet the needs of the moment. * Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively on cross-functional committees and project teams are needed. * A willingness and ability to manage conflicts and conflicting opinions, including a willingness to assume responsibilities outside the traditional scope of work to move things forward promptly. * An appreciation and commitment to the University's Mercy mission is required.
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm with evenings and weekends as required
