OVERVIEW

The National Retail Organization (NRO) is seeking a Retail Operations Analyst (ROA) to provide selling and analytics support against key Strategic and Regional Grocery NRO initiatives, including retail operations & in-store execution. This role supports the NRO and customer selling teams with retail execution planning, business analytics, and trade planning support to advance General Mill's partnership with these customers across our entire portfolio.

The ROA role delivers a competitive advantage for General Mills through strong partnerships with the NRO field and customer sales teams to provide analytics, reporting, and streamlined processes that support the advancement of General Mills' selling and retail execution strategies.

In this role you will be responsible for driving retail sales and top tier execution at Grocery accounts. We are looking for candidates with strong problem solving & analytical skills. You will be responsible for utilizing data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. You will need strong communication skills as you will be working directly with customer teams and all levels of the NRO Sales Team.

This role provides the opportunity to work on some of our largest customers and make a meaningful impact on the business. The ROA role provides opportunities to enhance your analytics skills and develop sales programs and strategies at the Store, Market, and Regional levels. You will also continue to strengthen your communication skills not only with NRO stakeholders, but across multiple levels of cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Development of both customer and Operating Unit (OU) selling materials and tools, to support the customer and OU strategy and execution of business/merchandising plans to drive incremental sales at retail
  • Provide a regular cadence of priorities and communication to the NRO including:
    • Monthly customer updates and presentations
    • Display Compliance & Selling updates reporting
    • Field programs creation and management
    • Ad hoc reports and analysis
    • North America Retail (NAR) portfolio events
  • Answer/resolve NRO field stakeholder questions and store challenges in a timely manner
  • Support annual NRO Sales Release and NAR Quarterly portfolio event processes by providing data, results, other key information, and preparing presentations and materials
  • Support POS display processes - management of NRO POS materials
  • Provide support for ad hoc business team needs
  • Clear and effective communication of business updates to all levels of NRO

PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYTICS

  • Understand the needs of the customer teams, OUs and NRO Stakeholders
  • Gather and analyze data (e.g. NRO, Nielsen, Salesforce, Consumer or Customer data) to identify opportunities to drive sales through distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing
  • Analyze geographic business trends to develop store/market/regional selling opportunities
  • Conduct analytics on execution and strategic opportunities and deliver insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create recommendations to drive business results
  • Identify business opportunities and challenges and implement solutions
  • Administration of Salesforce CG Cloud back-office processes, including orders and promotions to enable the NRO Field Team to execute in-store
  • Be highly proficient with data systems and analyzing, organizing, and formatting reports
  • System responsibilities include e2open, Salesforce CG Cloud back-office

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated Excel skills
  • Demonstrated PowerPoint skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Microstrategy Skills
  • Previous analyst/sales analytics experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to learn additional General Mills systems
  • CPG experience

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • This role can be based out of our Kroger Business Center (Cincinnati, OH) or World Headquarters (Minneapolis, MN) with preference to those based in the Cincinnati area. Relocation assistance will be provided.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for a U.S. work visa.
  • International relocation working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $64800.00 - $89300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
