Responsibilities
ECS is a consulting leader in construction materials testing (CMT), geotechnical engineering, and quality assurance services. We are seeking a CMT Field Services Manager in Tempe, AZ to lead a growing team, ensure quality testing, and deliver excellent client service. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise field services staff for construction materials testing projects
- Oversee scheduling, daily operations, and staff development, including training and mentoring
- Ensure compliance with ASTM testing standards and client specifications
- Promote safety culture, enforce PPE use, and assist with safety training programs
- Review and approve CMT field reports, providing technical oversight and resolution support
- Attend project meetings to resolve technical and administrative issues
- Support project managers and department leaders with proposals, staffing, and resource planning
- Drive business development efforts for continued group growth
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in construction materials testing, field quality assurance, or site grading
- Experience supervising staff in field or construction services
- Strong knowledge of ASTM standards, testing methods, and CMT evaluation techniques
- Basic industry certifications (must be maintained; advanced certifications may be required)
- Ability to lift at least 85 lbs
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, laptops, tablets, and electronic reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Previous management experience with budget and P&L responsibility
- Familiarity with ECS systems, procedures, and reporting software
- Background in marketing, client relations, or business development within technical services
