The Transit and Rail Practice is seeking an Engineer-in-Training.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating on all phases of projects: drafting, design, 3D visualizations, quality reviews, and cost estimating.
  • Performing design tasks on a wide range of transportation projects, including transit, multi-modal, complete streets, freeways, and highways.
  • Preparing and modifying construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs.
  • Analyzing maps, reports, drawings, as-builts, and test results for design projects.
  • Assisting with post-design construction support, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations.
  • Performing construction inspections on a project-specific basis.
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines such as bridge design, water resources, traffic design, and surveying.
  • Assisting with utility coordination, including conflict analysis and working with public and private utility companies.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • 0-4 years of professional engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil3D.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Drafting and design experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads, particularly in alignments and 3D design surfaces.
  • Construction experience.
  • 0-4 years of professional engineering experience
  • 1+ years of experience designing transportation projects
