To qualify for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following approved remote states at the time of hire: Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Mississippi, or Michigan.

The Internal Auditor assists the auditing function by organizing, coordinating, and conducting audits of procedures, programs, and functions. Recommend procedures and policies to the VP Internal Audit, Credit Union management, and the Audit Committee.

Essential Duties:



  • Conduct audits of departments, branches, functions, or processes, as assigned, to ensure the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls.
  • Assist the VP Internal Audit and Senior Internal Auditor with the audit function of Regulatory examiners, other outside agency's examinations (Risk Management, FHA, FHLB, etc.), the Credit Union's external audit firm, and third-party vendors.
  • Report to VP Internal Audit on all audits conducted. Report would include an opinion of the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the system of control, the degree of compliance, level of exposure (if any) and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Be fully acquainted with Credit Union policies and procedures and the operational aspects of each department. Anticipate changes as they may impact areas of responsibility and the Credit Union overall.
  • Examine and evaluate adherence to applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures. Recommend actions to improve compliance.
  • Contribute thoughts and ideas to the annual auditing plan process.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with other staff, management, committee members and members to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act, Lending, and other related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.



Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

One to three years of similar or related experience.Consumer and/or Mortgage lending experience preferred.

Education:

Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

Hours:Flexible hours Monday through Friday

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
