Reporting directly to the Regional Quality Manager, as a Complex Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance and control of the plant's quality testing and reporting system within all facilities. the plant. This position is significantly involved as part of the plant/operations leadership team within our Newport, TN facility Site. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for 3 facilities, 2 within Newport and one facility in Low Moor, VA. This position is highly involved in our continuous improvement program, partnering with operations and sales teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing development and maintenance of the quality testing/reporting system.
  • Responsible to develop, coordinate, support, train, assist, and facilitate within all attributes of the Quality Management System
  • Point of contact for all Customer issues, lead corrective actions, and ensure Sonoco is meeting all customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP)
  • Collaboration with operations team to improve day to day quality process and programs. Spends time on production floor working with staff, coaching, troubleshooting and evaluating work processes in converting operations and paper mill operations.
  • Lead the continuous improvement SPS program for quality processes, and active team member in operations continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates efforts required for PPAPs and other requirements for military and post business.
  • Responsible for developing integrated actions and cost saving opportunities.
  • Valuable member of the Newport plant leadership team engaged in daily safety hour responsibilities, employee engagement, and ensuring we are driving a strong customer experience.
  • Reduces variation within work tasks to improve process efficiency and quality.
  • Managing the specification, test methods, instructions, and audit processes.
  • Ensure quality records are maintained.
  • Develops best practices for each operation within the plant and trains across all shifts as required

This position is located in Newport, TN.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have a four-year degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering.
  • Experience in the large complex facilities leading quality initiatives, including but not limited to multi-site facilities
  • Experience leading operations employees driving productivity initiatives and collaborative relationships throughout multiple areas in quality, production, commercial and supply chain

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from:

Plant Quality Manager I: $84,640 to $95,220, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.

Plant Quality Manager II: $99,440 to $111,870, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.

Plant Quality Manager III: $110,160 to $123,930, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.

Senior Plant Quality Manager: $132,000 to $148,500, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
