Description

The Fluid Analysis Laboratory Supervisor is an advanced-level position, promoting a high-performance culture within the Fluid Analysis Laboratory group. The new Fluid Analysis Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for leading our laboratory team in all aspects of Oil and Fluid Analysis. The supervisor will direct all facets of laboratory operation including personnel, instruments, standards and procedures. This individual will work closely with Caterpillar in efforts to meet Caterpillar guidelines regarding all things associated with SOS Services. This includes maintaining high quality control standards, sample interpretation, data entry, and communication of results to customers.


  • Serve as primary source of communication for laboratory results/issues with Caterpillar representatives, Thompson Tractor employees, management, and customers.
  • Provides Quality Assurance of laboratory standards/procedures and instrument data.
  • Maintains inventory levels that support the daily laboratory operation and customer requirements.
  • Maintain operational levels of consumables and spares.
  • Meet or exceed the twenty-four-hour turnaround time requirement for fluid samples.
  • Manage the Lab Information management system, SOS Services Manager.
  • Manage customer access to the SOS Services Web.
  • Ensures and enforces a safe working environment.

Qualifications
Education
Technical/other training (preferred)
High School or Equivalent (required)
Experience
Candidates for this position should possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of Thompson parts system and have good communication skills. Experience using personal computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and basic typing skills are required for this position. (required)
