EMPLOYER: Delta Dental Insurance Company

TITLE: Quality Engineer

Location: 1333 Broadway, Suite 800, Oakland, CA 94612; Must live within reasonable commuting distance from HQ and able to appear in office as required.

Salary: $120,000 - $149,500/year

Job Description: Experience testing components, page templates, web pages and microsites, using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Experience in testing solutions that personalize and optimize customer experiences across various digital channels, including websites, mobile apps, and social media, using Adobe Target. Test automation of solutions developed using AEM and Adobe Target. Experience working with various tools provided by Adobe Experience Manager to test, triage issues to identify owners, and clearly document defects. Ensure web pages adhere to Visual Designs, Copy Decks and user interaction guidelines provided by the design team. Test individual components of a solution developed on a cloud platform (APIs, services offered by the platform etc.) Analyze project requirements and specifications, offering constructive feedback to improve test coverage and functionality. Develop detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases aligned with project objectives and user needs. Execute a variety of tests (functional, regression, smoke) to validate software functionalities and ensure quality. Prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities within agile development cycles. Install, configure, and maintain testing programs to facilitate comprehensive testing processes. Design and build automation test cases to validate business scenarios, increasing test efficiency and coverage. Integrate test automation programs with enterprise tools and services to streamline testing operations. Identify, document, and thoroughly track defects to resolution. Apply best practices in test standards and processes (SDLC, Agile) to maintain high testing quality. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring defects and document findings to prevent future occurrences. Track key quality assurance metrics (defect totals, type, frequency) and generate detailed test summary reports. Must live within reasonable commuting distance from HQ and able to appear in office as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct manual testing for all components and templates developed with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Additionally, automate validation of individual AEM components
  • Utilize Adobe Target to manually and, where applicable, automate testing of various use cases to personalize and optimize customer experiences across digital channels
  • Utilize Axe and NVDA tools to test web applications for compliance with American Disabilities Act (ADA) AA requirements. Develop test automation software to validate basic test cases
  • Identify and manage test cases for search engine optimization (SEO), and regularly update the test automation suite to reflect any changes to the test cases
  • Utilize Java with Selenium, Protractor, and TestNG to develop test automation software for responsive web applications that work across different viewports - mobile, tablet, and desktop devices
  • Integrate test automation with Zephyr for JIRA to track the results of each test automation run
  • Leverage GitHub to manage source code; build and run CI/CD pipelines on GitHub Actions to run workflows and deliver test execution results to stakeholders
  • Understand the visual designs provided in Figma and various copy documents from content creators, and convert them into test plans and test cases
  • Understand the various components of a solution design (including both Azure Cloud and On-prem solutions) and create test automation packages that provide visibility into the availability of software created and managed by the team
  • Validate data stored by the application code in various backend data storage technologies, including SQL Server and Azure Cloud data storage services


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of industry experience in any industry that hosts web applications for users on the public facing internet the related role or job offered.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 20. $120,000 - $149,500/year
