To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for Cloud infrastructure reliability, improving the planning process, manufacturing, quality, delivery at scale, serviceability and sustainability. We are looking for a Serviceability Engineer with a strong passion for learning and embracing customer focused solutions, developing insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will optimize the Cloud infrastructure and its serviceability. We are looking for a Hardware Serviceability Engineer to learn and contribute to Design for Serviceability (DFS), Design for Integration (DFI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) execution. You will assist senior engineers with DFS checklists, participate in design teardowns, and help validate service procedures, tooling, and spares readiness with ODM, Microsoft design and datacenter partners. This earlycareer role emphasizes building fundamentals in serviceability, and crossteam collaboration while supporting Microsoft's cloudscale hardware programs. ResponsibilitiesAssist in isolation of DFS and DFI requirements through partnerassessment checklists for assigned subassemblies and product groups; document evidence and action items; support verification at BOP/ASR/EVR/DVR/PVR gates.Participate in design teardowns; capture photos, confirm timeontask results, review tool lists, and develop ergonomic notes; file issues in ADO and track to closure.Partner with EE/ME/Thermal engineers to define clear FRU boundaries and labeling; ensure serviceability, including toolless or standard-tool serviceability in CAD and/or early prototypes.Author or update service collateral (Service Manuals, spares BOM, labels, tool lists) under guidance; validate DFS and DFI in L10/L11 builds and pilot field trials.Collect and report for supplier scorecard KPI with SIs/ODMs; assist with prototypes and mechanical mock-ups and implement ADO or ECO changes.Maintain change control hygiene (ECO/ECN, ADO work items) and ensure serviceability artifacts are versioned and traceable.Contribute to postmortems and lessonslearned; roll improvements into checklists and standards for subsequent phases of future NPI programs. |
