In 2003, our manufacturing facility was established in the South Industrial Park of Terre Haute, Indiana. Beginning with just one assembly line, a handful of employees and 58,000 square feet, the company has grown to over 450 employees and 224,000 square feet. In addition, we have an office on northeast side of Indianapolis where the Procurement and Supplier Development Department, Business Development and Product Engineering are now located. We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.


Your responsibilities

The Vice President of Business Development is the lead contact with customers to develop new business opportunities for steering components and systems. They establish customer contacts and build relationships at all levels within engineering and purchasing departments. They are required to interface between the customer, local account managers, and the management and development teams. They must be self-directed and proactive, possess (or the ability to learn) technical knowledge of steering systems, networking capabilities, and work in a team environment. They are responsible for implementing, ensuring conformity, and managing the performance of the Market Customer Strategy & Portfolio Management and Customer Satisfaction Measurement processes at their respective plant or operating unit (OU).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Key contact with OEMs located in the US
  • Develop customer-specific strategic sales plans and forecasts in line with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Definition of customer-specific growth strategies.
  • Utilizes business analysis and market trends to proactively adapt a sales strategy.
  • Establish and maintain business relations on technical and commercial levels (towards clients and internal divisions for Column/I-shaft, Gear-EPS, and Column-EPS).
  • Presentation of product details and commercial quotations.
  • Market and Business Development for US OEMs.
  • Proactively enhances existing business relations and extension of network.

Your profile

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics or equivalent field with over 10 years of experience in sales/engineering in the automotive industry or similar industry with an understanding of competition, product positioning, target markets and proven success in developing long term customer relationships. A proven track record showing close business ties with US-located OEMs and familiarity with their internal processes. Technical knowledge of steering systems is preferred. Candidate must have strong motivational, negotiation, and persuasive skills. In addition, the candidate must have expert skills in analytical thinking, networking, and strategizing. It is also essential that the candidate be pro-active and self-confident.
