Position Summary

The Occupational Health Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care and occupational health services to employees in manufacturing operations. This role focuses on workplace injury response, case management, wellness initiatives, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Health and Wellness

  • Conduct health assessments, respond to workplace injuries, and provide case management and follow-up care.

  • Coordinate and support return-to-work programs, collaborating with HR and supervisors.

  • Administer wellness programs, including vaccinations, health screenings, and preventive health initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential occupational health records.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable workplace health regulations.

  • Support workplace injury investigations and contribute to strategies for risk reduction.

  • Partner with safety teams to identify and address potential workplace health hazards.

Collaboration and Best Practices

  • Work with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to support health-related programs and policies.

  • Share knowledge and contribute to process improvements for occupational health services.

  • Provide health-related education and resources to employees and supervisors.

Data and Reporting

  • Track and report on key occupational health metrics, including injury rates, case outcomes, and participation in wellness programs.

  • Use data insights to support continuous improvement in employee health and safety.

Experience & Skills

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field preferred.

Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN/COHN-S) preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in occupational health or related nursing fields such as emergency/trauma care, primary care, case management, public health, or employee wellness. Experience in these areas may provide relevant skills in injury assessment, health education, triage, and chronic condition management in the workplace.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health regulations and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with employees at all levels.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive health information.

  • Proficiency in health management systems and reporting tools.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Work Conditions

  • Occasional travel between our three Central Wisconsin manufacturing locations.
