WHAT WE OFFER

As our Head of Total Rewards US, you'll be the strategic architect behind our comprehensive compensation and benefits programs. You'll partner with senior leadership to design innovative solutions that align with our business objectives while ensuring our employees feel valued and rewarded for their contributions. You will have overall responsibility for strategy and administration of the compensation, benefits, payroll, leaves, immigration and relocation functions within HR that touch 2,500 employees in the USA. Reporting directly to the Vice President and Head of Human Resources - U.S., you'll also collaborate closely with the Head of Compensation & Benefits for Covestro AG in Leverkusen, Germany, ensuring alignment between local and global strategies.

Key Opportunities

  • Shape Compensation Strategy- Lead strategic initiatives to design market-competitive compensation programs, conduct benchmarking studies, and deliver impactful recommendations to the Covestro LLC Compensation & Benefits Committee
  • Drive Benefits Innovation- Spearhead the evolution of our health, welfare, disability, and retirement plans, creating a benefits package that enhances employee wellbeing and satisfaction
  • Provide Strategic Leadership- Oversee job evaluation, payroll, leaves, separations, immigration and relocation practices and processes. Develop retention programs and enhance our wellbeing initiatives.
  • Lead Vendor Relationships- Manage RFP processes and strategic partnerships with service providers to optimize program delivery and value
  • Navigate Change- Support M&A activities with expert due diligence and integration planning for Total Rewards programs
  • Ensure Compliance- Maintain regulatory compliance while introducing innovative approaches to our compensation and benefits function
  • Executive Committee Support- Serve as "second chair" for LLC's Compensation & Benefits Committee, developing and delivering key presentations, with opportunities to proxy for the VP of HR as needed

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits design, development, implementation, and delivery
  • 3+ years' experience leading teams and influencing at the executive level.
  • 5+ years' experience with executive compensation
  • 5+ years' experience managing RFP processes and managing and negotiating with vendors
  • Strong understanding of relevant US compensation, benefit and employment laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and other organizational change and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CCP, CEBS and/or SHRM -SCP

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of state-of-the-art compensation and benefits principles, design, regulatory compliance and market benchmarking practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable functioning with a lean staff
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering, and developing productive relationships with senior leadership and line managers across the business and with the corporate global compensation & benefits group in Leverkusen
  • Excellent communication, change management and leadership skills
  • Strong bottom line orientation
