2026 Program Information

Duquesne Light Company offers summer internships that provide a hands-on, meaningful employment opportunity in a supportive setting that cultivates learning and collaboration. Duquesne Light's internship program will provide you with a valuable experience and a solid start to your career in various disciplines.

• Internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid, and run for 12 weeks (May-August).
• Internships are located in Pittsburgh and follow DLH's Hybrid Work Model (described below).
• Candidates must be full-time, degree-seeking students enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed their Sophomore year of studies.
• Candidates must have at least one semester remaining after completion of the internship/must not have graduated prior to the internship starting.
• Candidates must be in good academic standing.
• Candidates must be willing to work the required schedule as defined in the job description.
• Demonstrated leadership ability through studies, employment or extracurricularactivities.
• Aptitude for problem solving; strong communication skills.

DLC's grid is connected with poles and wires, but it's powered by people. The company's Human Resources (HR) department is dedicated to supporting employees and simultaneously facilitating a team-centric environment conducive to providing superior service to our customers. HR partners directly with departments across the company on hiring needs, training and development, benefits and programs and much more for all of DLC's more than 1,900 employees.

The Talent Management intern will help us advance several key initiatives that directly impact our people strategy and employee experience. Potential work could include:

• Assess and enhance our internship program.
• Support Recognition and Engagement efforts.
• Contribute to broader Talent programs (e.g., career development, performance management) by bringing fresh perspective, conducting research, and developing actionable recommendations.

Education/Experience:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Human Resources Management, I/O Psychology, Organizational Development, or other related field.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Hybrid Work:

All internships follow our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Interns must be in the immediate Pittsburgh area for the summer. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Other:
