Day-to-day, you'll provide technical expertise and carry out your duties in a data-intensive environment. In this role you will be preparing complex monthly and quarterly journal entries as assigned, reconciling data and accounts that are in high volume and complexity. You will be exposed to some of the more technical aspects of financial accounting and support the WSECU Brand Promise while Observing WSECU Operating and Code of Conduct Standards. Your day may include:

  • Maintaining monthly accounting tasks such as reconciliations, journal entries, analyses
  • Maintaining quarterly accounting tasks such as assisting with the call report, annual state examination and external audit preparations
  • Balancing Loomis and Coinstar transactions
  • Balancing Federal Reserve and US Bank Accounts
  • Maintaining and balancing Daily Check Deposits
  • Processing Foreign Checks
  • Posting Daily Teller Transactions
  • Providing outstanding customer service to other front or back office teammates with any accounting related questions

What you bring to the team:

  • A Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, but related experience may be substituted
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting, preparing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and conducting month-end close-related duties
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and personal computer experience
  • Detail orientation for accuracy
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Two (2) years experience in a financial institution such as a credit union or a bank.
  • Symitar software knowledge
  • Experience with external audits
  • Experience with quarterly Call Report preparation

Competitive pay: $34.06 - $51.09 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package.

  • The target starting pay for this position is $34.06 - $42.57 per hour, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant's pay history into account.
  • The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increase during their tenure in the position.

Position location: 330 Union Ave, Olympia WA. Employee must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a hybrid position that blends working in-office and from home. Works onsite one (1) occasion per week.

Working from home/hybrid requirements:

  • Reliable, high-speed home internet connection
  • Private, confidential workspace, away from distractions and other people
  • Suitable desk/surface and desk chair

When you'd work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm, full time minimum 40 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility required to meet this non exempt position.
