Position Overview

The Lead Operations Coordination is responsible for leading a comprehensive operational support mechanism within the operation's enterprise. This influential, non-bias position coordinates with key leaders to execute the annual operational strategies. In parallel, the Lead Operations Coordination will partner with all levels of leaders and individual contributors to determine the coordination of activities and key areas of focus to ensure operation's functional teams implement cross-functional initiatives quickly and effectively.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Play a key role in the execution of operations functional meetings and execution of the communication for the operation's leadership teams.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on the progress against annual and long-term business objectives and cross-functional initiatives. Identify opportunities for the operation's leadership teams to review progress, at the right frequency and depth and in the right forum.
  • Drive accountability among the operations leadership teams by managing program/initiative/business metrics and progress (e.g., timeline, budget, scope of impact, performance metrics) while surfacing critical business topics for discussion or deep dives.
  • Ability to support a global operations enterprise that spans multiple geographic locations, and quickly acclimate to successfully drive the diverse needs of the effort.
  • Coordinate operational and tactical initiatives across a variety of stakeholders by demonstrating excellent teamwork, accountability, and organizational savviness.
  • Lead, monitor, and/or project manage cross-functional initiatives for the operations team, as needed.
  • Partner with key leaders to determine topics to drive robust and relevant discussions.
  • Identify areas for greater operational efficiency and effectiveness and collaborate to implement/lead improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and assist with special leadership projects as business demands arise.
  • Maintainmorale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate complex facilitation skills such as:
    • Ability to keep team focused.
    • Connect ideas in a collaborative and graceful manner.
    • Balance participation and shared work topics.
    • Keep topics moving toward desired outcome.
    • Manage the topic time (keeping team apprised when it is time to switch topics.
    • Experience prioritizing needs during meetings to provide all information/data necessary for absolute decision making.
  • Identify potential points of resistance, raise to team, and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Through guidance and enabling trust, assist executive sponsors, senior leadership, program teams, business leads and team members in their decision-making process.
  • Ability to quickly build comprehensive process improvement, project management, or change management plans, activities, presentations, or visuals that capture the most pertinent information.
  • Experience prioritizing, managing, and tracking multiple pieces of work simultaneously with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong desire to uphold high standards of excellence.
  • Truly self-motivated with a desire to constantly learn, develop and grow to build out the specialty.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness with humility/willingness to question one's own assumptions.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Degree or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of progressive, broad-based project experience.
  • 5+ years working in a client-facing project management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to build close working relationships and establish trust.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, business intuition, and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrated excellent time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and deliver high quality results on time.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, openness to change, and demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and quickly respond to new information or unexpected circumstances.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail; demonstrated quality-oriented approach with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Demonstrated ability to directly lead and coordinate strategic initiatives through strong project management, influence, and team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated success in progressively increasing responsibility/scope in direct or indirect leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage a high-performing team, build trust, and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Change management, Process Improvement and/or Project Management Certifications.
  • Experience in Operations, Health Care, and/or Laboratory.

Salary Range:

$82,000.00 - $146,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
