The Technical Writer is responsible for developing, editing, and refining technical documentation to support equipment calibration and operational processes. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams, conducting technical verifications, and ensuring the accuracy and usability of instructional materials. The position requires expertise in content development strategy, technical analysis, and the implementation of standardized templates to enhance documentation quality.

As a Software a Technical Writer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Develop comprehensive technical bulletins and documentation to support equipment calibration processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to gather information and ensure the accuracy of technical content.
  • Conduct research on specifications to ensure the selection of correct standards and compliance with industry requirements.
  • Participate in technical verifications to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of instructional materials.
  • Enhance documentation quality by implementing standardized templates and style guides.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing input during design reviews to ensure clarity and usability of technical materials.
  • Resolve product issues through technical verification and documentation of errors, improving efficiency for field technicians.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of technical writing experience.
  • Active secret clearance
  • Expertise in technical document editing and content development strategy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for developing calibration data templates and resolving technical errors.
  • Strong knowledge of specialized vocabulary and technical analysis.
  • Ability to refine text for clarity and usability.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering and design teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a government or defense-related environment.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards and technical specifications.
