This is a 1st Shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 5:30am-2pm Central Time.
SUMMARY
The Assembler (Light) II is responsible for performing a variety of job duties to ensure the production, inspection, inventory, and distribution of our products are accurate and ready for shipment. This position works within a team environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manually assembles and builds Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIP) according to written or visual work instructions.
- Packs products into shipping cartons as described on work orders/instruction sheets. Uses packaging materials as necessary to prevent breakage or damage. Closes, seals and accurately labels cartons for shipping.
- Uses manual or electronic inventory systems to locate and record orders and inventory information.
- Performs general warehouse work that involves, using material moving/handling equipment to store materials in designated areas, and/or retrieving materials/products from warehouse locations to supply production operations or support customer shipment of company products.
- Has knowledge of warehouse layout and the safe operation of material moving and handling equipment including 2-wheeler, lift truck, pallet jack, or motorized forklift.
- Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
- Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
- Assures that interactions with co-workers, client and vendors are in compliance with consumer rights policies and all other policies governing the provision of services and programs for individuals with disabilities. Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive influence on co-workers, clients and vendors.
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
- Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
- Under general supervision performs a wide range of assembly operations on components or sub-assemblies specifically VIPs. Uses writing and/or verbal instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units. Receives limited instructions on new assessments.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent plus one year or more of relevant experience. May require training and certification in safe operation or material handling equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
- Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems. Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the time frame specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to execute physical activities within the production areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
