Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all machinery and production equipment (e.g., inspecting drives, motors, belts, and filters; checking fluid levels).
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems and determine the best course of action to correct them.
• Dismantle and reassemble machinery to access and replace defective parts using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment to optimize performance and prevent future failures.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair work.
• Install new equipment and machinery as needed.
• Perform general building upkeep and repairs with additional employee support.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems (e.g., replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning circuit breaker panels).
• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains).
• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
• Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds to identify and address potential issues.
• Respond to facility-related work orders and emergency calls.
• Perform outdoor upkeep, which may include landscaping, snow removal, and maintaining sidewalks.
• Order materials, supplies, and replacement parts to maintain adequate stock.
• Collaborate with other departments and external contractors to complete projects.
• Provide support for after-hours building needs.

Skills and Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or GED with over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree or certificate from a technical or trade school is preferred.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures, as well as industry and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA). Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained in compliance with health and safety standards. Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.

Technical Skills: Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
