Description

SRC is searching for a Facility Infrastructure Engineer (Mid-Level) to support the planning, design, and execution of IT facility infrastructure that enables the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) C2F Headquarters MILCON and related small projects. This engineer will provide technical expertise in structured cabling, data center infrastructure, and secure facility build-outs, ensuring that mission-critical communications systems are supported by compliant and resilient physical infrastructure. The role involves developing Installation Design Plans (IDPs), supporting procurement actions (BOMs, IGCEs, C-SCRM reviews), and validating compliance with enclave-specific Approved Product Listings (ITECH, APL, EPL). The engineer will also coordinate with facility teams and Functional Area Managers (FAMs) to guarantee that installations support both current and future mission requirements across SCIF and SAP-F environments. This position blends engineering design with hands-on oversight, including inspection, quality assurance, and resolution of installation deficiencies. By working directly with contractors, government stakeholders, and program sponsors, the engineer will ensure USSPACECOM's infrastructure is built to the highest standards of compliance, reliability, and mission readiness. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be performed onsite at government facilities in Huntsville, AL. Duties & Responsibilities include:

    Supporting in planning, designing, and QA of structured cabling, copper/fiber pathways, and distribution systems in SCIF and SAP-F environments
  • Assisting with developing Installation Design Plans (IDPs), System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) checklists, and 'as-built' drawings using AutoCAD/Visio
  • Coordinating with facility engineering teams and Functional Area Managers (FAMs) to ensure infrastructure supports mission system requirements
  • Developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) for facility infrastructure procurement actions
  • Overseeing contractor installation of IT racks, power, and cabling runs; ensuring compliance with SIPH, DoD, and USSPACECOM standards
  • Validating procurement of compliant products against enclave-specific approved lists (ITECH, APL, EPL)
  • Performing inspections, validating work against technical drawings, and resolving deficiencies
  • Incorporating C-SCRM vetting into procurement and installation processes for IT/OT infrastructure
  • Supporting documentation of cabling topology, circuit provisioning, and data center layouts
  • Assisting with transition planning from temporary to permanent facility infrastructure

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting structured cabling, IT facility, or infrastructure engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Project
  • Familiarity with DoD facility infrastructure standards (SIPH, UFC, ICD 705)
  • Requires an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Requires bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Requires a TS/SCI clearance


Desired Skills

  • BICSI RCDD or equivalent cabling design certification

  • Experience supporting MILCON or new facility build-outs

  • Experience ensuring infrastructure equipment complies with enclave-specific approved product lists (ITECH, APL, EPL)

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple contractors and government stakeholders

  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills

  • Knowledge of SCIF and SAP-F construction/accreditation standards

  • Familiarity with RMF/ATO infrastructure documentation

  • Experience drafting and reviewing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) for facility infrastructure projects

  • Understanding of physical security and TEMPEST separation standards as applied to cabling and distribution in secure spaces

  • Experience supporting Protected Distribution Systems (PDS) installation, certification, and monitoring

  • Ability to manage and audit as-built documentation for compliance with SIPH and ICD 705

  • Hands-on experience with fiber/copper validation tools (e.g., OTDR, Fluke) to support QA and acceptance testing

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
