This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive (San Diego, CA) and remote. Onsite 3 days a week. This position has recently been accreted by UPTE TX union and will be a part of that union moving forward. This position will remain open until filled. A Network Engineer specializes in designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting an organization's computer networks-both hardware and software. They ensure reliable connectivity, optimize network performance, maintain security protocols, and support upgrades or expansions. Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, and firewalls; monitoring network traffic; diagnosing outages; and collaborating with IT teams to align network capabilities with business needs. Specific skillsets should include expert level experience with Cisco Wireless platforms (C9800 Controllers), Cisco routing and switching protocols, Cisco Security tools (ISE - Trustsec/NAC), wireless surveys with Ekahau, Palo Alto firewall experience, tools to include Wireshark and syslog analysis expertise. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
