The Engineer - Process Control will provide engineering services to support mill control system and control projects, which include but are not limited to: emphasis on distributed control systems and integrated supervisory weight and moisture controls.


Principle Accountabilities:



  • Responsible for distributed control systems and integrated supervisory weight and moisture controls.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of maintenance, operations, and contract personnel.
  • Serve as system technical support for maintenance and operations personnel in troubleshooting control problems.
  • Work with corporate process control engineers and mill Process Services Manager to implement new control strategies and to modify existing strategies as necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Work with mill personnel and suppliers of control equipment on new installations, upgrades, and maintenance contracts.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with basic knowledge of control theory.
  • Applicants must have 1-5 years' experience in controls.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, familiarity with instrumentation, process control equipment, control strategies, and related software.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Vendor training in distributed control systems and quality control systems
  • Pulp and Paper Industry experience.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem solving.
  • Must be capable of working with ambiguity and change.
