Coordinator of Clinical Partnerships

About the position:
Responsible for leading and managing a complex, multi-system process for ensuring that the school has a current affiliation agreement for each practicum placement and any other course requirements where a student is engaged with an organization (e.g. DNP projects). Responsible for the development, management and oversight of partnerships with organizations providing experiential learning opportunities for all nursing students. Ensures that the school has a plan for practicum placements for all nursing students each semester.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinating Partnerships for Students' Experiential Learning (70%)

  1. Develops, maintains, and sustains partnerships with organizations providing experiential learning opportunities for students in all nursing academic programs. Initiates and leads meetings with key organizations throughout the region to develop new clinical partnerships.
  2. Identifies new practicum experiences for students in new and existing organizations.
  3. Analyzes, assesses, and responds quickly and professionally to changes and crises that require creative problem-solving and in-depth knowledge of practicum settings.
  4. Ensures that the school has a well-coordinated plan that identifies and optimizes the use of practicum sites for experiential student learning in the BSN, MN, DNP, Post-graduate certificate, and PhD programs.
  5. Serves as the School of Nursing's representative and point of contact for external and partnering organizations requiring a centralized process for student placement.
  6. Represents the School and Office of Academic Programs at meetings and committees related to practicum placement of students.
  7. Works in close collaboration and communicates regularly with the staff doing the practicum placements for students for coordination, identifying practicum needs, and problem-solving unique practicum needs or issues.
  8. Collaborate in preceptor development activities and the development of preceptor resources.

Program Business Administration (25%)

University Affiliation Agreements:

  1. Responsible for leading and managing a complex, multi-system process for ensuring that the School of Nursing has a current affiliation agreement for each practicum placement and other course requirements where a student is engaged with an organization (e.g., DNP projects).
  2. For new organizations, research each organization and initiate contact in order to establish an affiliation agreement.
  3. Understands the School of Nursing accreditation and University policy requirements to ensure that all agreements are in compliance.
  4. Serves as the School of Nursing liaison with the Office of General Counsel for all affiliation agreement matters.
  5. Ensures all current affiliation agreements are active, renewed as appropriate, and that the school is complying with the terms of the affiliation agreement.

State Board of Nursing Requirements

  1. For non-Minnesota practicum placements, investigates, synthesizes, and determines State Board of Nursing requirements in advance of any practicum placement within the selected state.
  2. Ensures that all individual State Board of Nursing requirements are met in advance of a student placement.
  3. Provides guidance and consultation to the School of Nursing admissions team regarding BON requirements for applicants.

Partnerships and Committees

  1. Represent the School of Nursing in several internal and external committees and task forces, advocating for the School of Nursing's needs and facilitating information flow among SON stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in nursing with at least 6 years of experience or a master's degree plus at least four years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity working with online platforms, databases, Google Suite of products/applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing/health field
  • Experience supervising individuals on small teams

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $60,863.26-$80,643.86; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
