Job Mission

As the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, ASML manufactures complex machines essential to microchip production. This role supports the Wilton Factory's Production Engineering team by resolving engineering disturbances and executing tasks outlined in the Production Operator Dashboard (POD) to maintain output and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spend 75% of time in the cleanroom supporting production and troubleshooting.

  • Rapidly respond to and resolve:

    • Mechanical assembly issues

    • Glass-to-metal bonding problems

    • Flow and thermal anomalies

    • Module testing and final qualification issues

    • Tooling and test stand malfunctions

  • Develop and implement:

    • OCAPs (Out-of-Control Action Plans)

    • Fishbone diagrams

    • Troubleshooting guidelines

  • Support diagnostics qualification and training for production staff.

  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with corrective actions.

  • Contribute to manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions.

  • Participate in design and documentation reviews.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for DOA (Dead on Arrival) components.

  • Support PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and cycle time/labor hour roadmap initiatives.

  • Read and interpret optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

  • Occasionally provide weekend coverage.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programs, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.

  • Familiarity with epoxy application, dispensing, processing, and curing is a plus

  • Experience with opto-mechanical designs and electro-optical devices is a plus

  • Knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, Gaussian propagation, and aberration theory is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 2+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 1+ internships in a production or manufacturing environment

Work Environment

  • Cleanroom conditions requiring full gowning (coveralls, hood, safety shoes, face mask, gloves, safety glasses).

  • Exposure to overhead cranes, forklifts, lasers, ladders, platforms, and chemicals.

  • Physical demands include sitting, walking, kneeling, lifting up to 20 lbs, and working under deadlines.

  • May require occasional travel.
