Overview:

The Workers' Comp Coordinator will support Mercy's workers' compensation program by receiving, processing, and assisting injured co-workers through the workers' compensation process. They will serve as the on-site resource for all incidents and injuries, as well as support leaders/departments through processes and prevention efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior healthcare experience: clinical or nonclinical

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited health care program related to licensure.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure for clinical role: Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, RN, etc.
  • Experience: Two years of clinical experience in occupational medicine, infectious disease, employee health or workers' compensation.
  • Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
    • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently under limited supervision.
    • Impeccable verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills that allow successful interactions with co-workers and leadership at all levels within the ministry and externally.
    • Outstanding service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of co-workers across the ministry.
    • Strong business computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), with expertise using Excel or similar database programs.
    • Understanding of working with and preserving confidential information.
    • Ability to work independently or in collaboration equally.
    • Strength in leading change.
