Information Assurance Engineer (Journeyman/Senior)

Location: Los Angeles AFB, CA - USSF Space Systems Command (SSC)

Status: Full Time
Salary Range: $150K - $175K
Clearance: Top Secret (Required)

Astrion is seeking an Information Assurance Engineer (Journeyman/Senior) to support mission-critical cybersecurity functions across DoD programs. This role will focus on ensuring functions comply with DoD security standards, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Information Assurance (IA) directives. The preferred candidate should have a strong foundation in cybersecurity, hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools, and the experience to support and manage certification and accreditation (C&A) processes.

Responsibilities
* Execute and support the DoD C&A and RMF processes
* Perform portfolio management using the Information Technology Investment Portfolio Suite (ITIPS)
* Support and maintain enterprise cybersecurity compliance through eMASS and/or Xacta systems
* Monitor, track, and report system security status using the Vulnerability Management System
* Assist with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) / CMI activities
* Ensure DoD 8570 compliance requirements are satisfied for supported systems and users
* Support development, documentation, and validation of IA security controls
* Prepare and present technical documentation, security assessments, and risk analysis to program leadership
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field
* 5-9 years of experience in IA or Cybersecurity functions
* Knowledge of DoD C&A and RMF processes
* Experience with ITIPS, eMASS, Xacta, and vulnerability management tools
* Working knowledge of 8570 compliance requirements
* Security+ certification (baseline requirement under DoD 8570)
Preferred Qualifications
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification (or equivalent advanced security certification)
* Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline
* 10-20 years of IA/Cybersecurity experience (Senior level)
* Experience supporting DoD programs or large enterprise IT systems
