The Center for Excellence in STEM Education at West Virginia University is seeking a part-time CodeWV Recruiter.

About the Opportunity

This position will focus on recruiting teachers, schools, and districts to participate in professional learning opportunities for K-12 computer science (CS) education. The recruiter will also lead outreach efforts to school administrators and counselors and support CodeWV's work as a Code.org Regional Partner to expand CS education across West Virginia.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit teachers, schools, and districts to participate in CodeWV's professional development programs.
  • Conduct outreach to school administrators, district leaders, and counselors to promote the value of computer science education.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for teacher and school engagement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school and district leadership to support long- term CS education adoption.
  • Support CodeWV's partnership with Code.org by:
    • Coordinating outreach for the Code.org District Program to expand CS opportunities at the district level.
    • Participating in regular check-ins with Code.org regarding program updates and initiatives.
  • Draft and send communications and marketing materials to educators and school leaders.
  • Represent CodeWV at education conferences, meetings, and networking events to expand program reach.
  • Track recruitment efforts and analyze participation data to inform future outreach
    strategies.

Pay Grade: 17

Work Hours: 19 hours per week

Qualifications
  • A master's degree in education, Education Leadership, or a STEM-related eld.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with teacher recruitment, professional learning, or school outreach.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with educators and school
    administrators.
  • Familiarity with K-12 computer science education and curriculum implementation.
  • Experience using or teaching Code.org curriculum in a K-12 classroom.
  • Prociency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and digital communication tools.
  • Willingness to travel within West Virginia as needed for outreach activities (valid driver's
    license required)
