Function:

Operations Job Summary:The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily logistics of the loading operations for ammonia and upgrade plant products, including anhydrous ammonia, urea liquor, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), and Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN). This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant shipping practices while coordinating closely with internal production teams, corporate sales, and external customers. The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to safety and environmental standards, and the ability to respond effectively to dynamic logistical challenges. Job Description:
  • Ensure full compliance with plant policies and procedures related to product loading and shipping; recommend updates as needed.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to production technicians on operating procedures, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Identify and resolve short-term shipping and loading issues to maintain operational continuity.
  • Maintain effective communication with safety, environmental, and maintenance personnel to support plant-wide coordination.
  • Liaise with the Federal Railroad Administration during audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented; maintain current DOT Hazardous Materials Certificate of Registration.
  • Register and report to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - TSA Freight Rail Security Division; monitor and report railcar activity in case of security incidents.
  • Manage customer orders, track yard inventory, and reduce congestion on BNSF storage tracks outside facility gates.
  • Foster positive employee relations and demonstrate initiative while adhering to established procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve customer and public complaints in accordance with plant protocols.
  • Operate independently in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all shipping-related activities.

Key Qualifications

Required

  • Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Years of experience: 3 - 5 years of related professional experience in related areas, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
