DescriptionJob Summary: Provides respiratory care services: safe, skillful, accurate and in an efficient manner, age-appropriate and population specific to patients of all ages under the direction of a physician, guided by department guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols. Work activities and assignments may be determined by demonstration of competency. Job Responsibilities: 1. Assessment/Reassessment/Evaluation Is knowledgeable and skilled in clinical assessment of the respiratory system. Is knowledgeable regarding pulmonary health and respiratory pathophysiology. Is knowledgeable of applicable Respiratory Care Department guidelines, policies and protocols. 2. Implementation Is knowledgeable and skilled in the assessment and care of respiratory patients. Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner. 3. Patient/Family Education Is knowledgeable and familiar with health education resources to provide information about respiratory health to patients/family. 4. Documentation and Communication Is thorough, accurate and timely in completion of respiratory care documentation. Is thorough, accurate and timely in communication to hand-off of patient care information, and other information that impacts the operation of the department and interactions between departments. Demonstrates working computer skills and is able to navigate the Meditech system. Demonstrates effective communication skills. QualificationsEducation Requirements and Other Requirements: Education Level: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a Respiratory Care Program Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or Paramedic/EMT Program Certification/Licensure: Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment) State of Illinois Professional License or permit recblid zve38lcg8dgi65crujcc91f62m2znb |
