Flint Hills Resources, LP has a lot of exciting energy around our growth and new initiatives. We are pleased to be adding a Project Controls Associate to the Project Controls Team located onsite in Rosemount, MN at the FHR Pine Bend Refinery. Associate will complete a 13-month rotation program through various capabilities within Project Controls including Cost Engineering, Scheduling, and Project Estimating to gain a well-rounded understanding of the refinery operations and guide your career development. Associate will also partner with Team Based Projects and Construction Management in the development and delivery of Capital Projects and Turnarounds from conceptual phase through construction.

Once the rotational program has been completed, Associate will be assigned to a permanent position that aligns with business needs and individual comparative advantage in 1 of the 3 capabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, estimates and budgets for refinery projects, thus ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Collaborate with project team members to identify, mitigate, and eliminate risks or gaps and influence competitive project outcomes through estimate & schedule reviews, field walk downs, constructability, interactive planning sessions and benchmarking analytics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to better understand refinery operations and business strategies.
  • Support variance analysis and trend identification through project reporting.
  • Participate in the reporting of projects to refinery and business leadership.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Recent or upcoming graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite with proficient skills in Excel (creating charts, formatting cells, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Availability to travel domestically up to 10%.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous role or course work in Cost Estimating, Cost Engineering and/or Scheduling.
  • Previous oil and gas industry experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI and/or Aspen Capital Cost Estimator.

For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000 - $100,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
