We are looking for a Senior Product Sales Manager to join the Rowan Patents, part of Clarivate team. This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the sales team for the Rowan platform that is on the leading edge of technology for patent drafting preparation and prosecution. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the Rowan sales strategy in the field and delivering market expansion for a high-impact product line. You will work alongside a matrixed sales organization, developing innovative sales pipelines, and cultivating high-level customer relationships. You will serve as a trusted advisor to our target audience, ensuring customers achieve their goals through effective solution presentations, workshops, trials and/or proof of concepts. About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • 7+ years of professional work experience in sales and/or intellectual property or similar

  • 3+ years of IP experience related to patent drafting work

It would be great if you also have . . .

  • Past work experience as a Patent Attorney

  • In-depth knowledge of USPTO patent filing requirements

  • Prior experience successfully selling into law firms and/or corporate legal teams

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Serve as a primary contact for a high-impact product line (Rowan), cultivating and managing strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty

  • Utilize advanced sales and negotiation techniques to engage with high-value customers, drive market expansion, and address complex challenges while building and nurturing high-level customer partnerships

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets ensuring alignment with Clarivate's sales objectives and contributing significantly to revenue growth

  • Leverage working knowledge of patent preparation and prosecution to support clients (attorneys and paralegals) using Rowan software to draft and prosecute patents; help drive adoption of software through hands-on engagement with clients; lead the development of best practices for product deployment and usage

  • Continuously deepen industry knowledge and product expertise to maintain a competitive advantage while applying advanced insights to refine sales planning and enhance overall commercial success

  • Acquire a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and be able to defend our solutions and capabilities against competitive offerings

  • Provide sales insights, market and customer feedback to senior leadership across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other cross-functional partners; collaborate with product teams to provide insights that inform future product roadmaps and enhancements

About the Team

Rowan Patents, a part of Clarivate, joined the company in 2024. Rowan Patents focuses on AI-enabled solutions designed for patent drafting preparation and prosecution, specially designed for patent practitioners to establish and protect patents more effectively. This enables Clarivate to extend its workflow automation solutions beyond its market-leading IP management and intelligence capabilities, delivering new solutions to support patent preparation, filing and prosecution. You will partner with another sales professional focusing on the growth of the Rowan platform.

Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time remote position with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

  • You will be expected to travel ~50% to meet with clients as needed

Compensation - US Only

The expected base salary for this position is a base salary of $110,000-140,000 USD per year with eligibility for commission earnings.Individual pay is based upon experience, education, skill and ability, expertise, and relevant factors. In addition to a competitive remuneration package, you will be eligible to participate in a benefits package that includes medical, dental, prescription drug, life insurance, 401k with match, long term disability coverage, vacation, sick time, volunteer time, discount programs, and many more.
