Senior Finance Director, North America - Incentives and Special Projects

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from either our Chicago, IL or New York, NY office.

What the day will look like

  • Key member of the NA Aon finance leadership team, expected to partner with other leaders across finance and the business.
  • Provide direct leverage and support to North American CFO.
  • Own & optimize Incentive payment process - ensure payments are calculated timely and accurately and engage with colleagues who have questions about their incentive payment
  • Optimize reporting and analysis on select new hires and other financial initiatives
  • Work with Compensation team and North America CFO to develop, design and analyze new compensation structures to drive regional performance
  • Develop and lead change management with optimizing process for various finance/business critical activities
  • Review pricing, compensation and profitability efforts to scale and drive improvements.
  • Optimize the helix finance organization and deliverables to provide alignment with business goals and avoid duplication.
  • Partner with CFO and Executive teams to develop, model and execute long range plan and growth strategies. Ensure alignment with Aon's financial goals and that they contribution towards our key metrics (revenue growth, margin improvement, ROIC & free cash flow improvement).
  • Develop deep understanding of the internal and external environment, especially related to compensation trends including market attributes, trends, drivers, as well as our own product offerings and market solutions. Apply competitor analysis, benchmarking, heat maps, and local market planning tools and techniques.
  • MD&A/ Growth Strategy: Help partner with teams to develop strategic growth areas & pipeline. Drive continued portfolio rationalization to exit non-strategic and reinvest in strategic businesses, portfolios, teams. Help measure and ensure successful integration to meet or exceed business case/ deal model.
  • Assist team with measurement, target-setting & forecast accuracy. Help collect and communicate risks & opportunities
  • Help organize, measure and drive utilization and improvement of key design-support tools, processes, and metrics, including client profitability, pricing analysis, fee allocation model, and capacity management. Standardize reporting, KPIs, MBR/QBR materials.
  • Support compliance, risk management and litigation initiatives as needed
  • Act with integrity and work every day in a way that positively impacts our clients, colleagues and communities. Create an environment of high standards, compliance and conduct
  • Articulate complex finance concepts clearly, translate for leader consumption, and communicate such effectively

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Ten plus years of senior level of accounting / finance experience, preferably in the insurance / brokerage industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly with senior management
  • Experience building / leading large teams
  • Experience leading change and process improvement
  • High level of attention to detai

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $220,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
