  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to support principle-based problem-solving and production reliability.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to create mutual benefit and value creation through process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.
  • Help translate data into actionable results using data decision matrices, mental models, and engineering principles.
  • Support disciplined operations by reinforcing standard operating practices.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability through academic projects, research, or internships.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Internship, co-op, or research experience in manufacturing, pulp and paper, or another continuous process industry.
  • Exposure to SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean principles through coursework, internships, or student organizations.
  • Experience monitoring lab-scale or pilot-scale processes as part of coursework or capstone projects.
  • Familiarity with process control systems (DCS/PLC) from coursework, labs, or extracurricular activities.
  • Participation in cross-functional team projects, student leadership roles, or engineering competitions that involved problem-solving and collaboration.
