We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator for our Food and Beverage team.

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for receiving all items for catering operations. Inspecting incoming food deliveries, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders, managing inventory levels, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of food items, while also maintaining accurate documentation of all deliveries. The Purchasing Coordinator will work closely with the Purchasing Manager and offer assistance in all areas as needed

Essential Functions

  • Accurately inspect deliveries, identify discrepancies, and maintain detailed records.
  • Monitor stock levels and rotate inventory to ensure proper usage and prevent spoilage.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks to maintain accurate stock counts.
  • Thoroughly inspect all incoming food deliveries for quality, freshness, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Check for damage, spoilage, incorrect quantities, and proper labeling.
  • Reject any items that do not meet quality standards and document reasons for rejection.
  • Communicate any quality issues or concerns to vendors and the Purchasing
  • Maintain detailed receiving logs, including date, vendor, item description, quantity received, and any discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Monitor proper storage conditions for perishable items.
  • Conduct regular sanitation checks in the receiving area.
  • Offer assistance in all areas as needed.


Job Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years prior experience in a restaurant kitchen or receiving department.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations, and proper food handling techniques.
  • Effective communication with vendors, kitchen staff, and management regarding receiving issues.


Environment

  • Able to lift 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to go in and out of walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers as needed.
