Overview

You will help design, build, and modernize missioncritical systems that power Deutsche Bank's core business operations. Working handson with enterprise mainframe platforms, you will act as a key engineering partner to both business and technology teams, ensuring applications remain stable, secure, and aligned to evolving business needs. You will play a central role in translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, strengthening reliability today while supporting longterm modernization and migration initiatives. What You'll Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain core mainframe applications across batch and online processing to support critical, businessfacing workflows and reliable daily operations

• Provide handson DB2 and CICS engineering support, including codelevel troubleshooting, performance analysis, and production issue resolution in a live enterprise environment

• Analyze and resolve production issues quickly and safely, partnering with infrastructure and support teams to maintain system stability, data integrity, and performance

• Act as a primary liaison between business users, product partners, and engineering teams, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions

• Maintain a strong working understanding of transaction flows, upstream/downstream dependencies, and business impacts across payments, settlements, and core banking platforms

• Lead and support modernization and migration initiatives to evolve legacy systems toward more scalable, resilient, futureready architectures

Skills You'll Need

• Current, handson experience developing and supporting applications on IBM z/OS in a production environment

• Strong working proficiency with COBOL, enterprise batch processing, CICS transaction processing, and DB2 (including SQL and production troubleshooting)

• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues, including rootcause analysis and riskaware remediation

• Ability to produce clear, wellstructured technical and process documentation

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business and product stakeholders and analyze financial domain workflows

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $153,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
