Job Summary
#CA-SS The Financial Analyst plays a critical role within the Community Physician Group's finance team, supporting data-driven decision-making for the Community Physician Group Practice and the Community physician outreach specialists. This mid-level position is responsible for delivering comprehensive financial analyses, developing budgets, managing physician productivity metrics, and supporting compliance and compensation functions. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare finance, advanced technical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with finance, clinical, and operational leaders. This position requires attending, preparing, and presenting financial data in leadership and team meetings. - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, health administration, economics, or related work experience.
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, ideally within a healthcare provider or physician practice setting.
- Experience working with EHR systems (Epic), financial planning tools, and revenue cycle systems.
- Advanced Excel (including Power Pivot, Macros, and nested formulas).
- Ability to manipulate and interpret RVU tables, CPT coding implications, and payer policies.
- Financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
- Familiarity with audit standards, compliance regulations, and risk mitigation practices.
- Familiarity with Epic reporting tools (e.g., Radar Dashboards, Clarity reports), Tableau, or similar.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking.
- Strong verbal communication, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.
- Organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, health administration, public health, or related field.
- Experience in healthcare contracting.
- Experience in business development in a clinical health care setting.
- Familiarity with physician compensation models for faculty and staff physicians.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects in a complex environment, across clinical, information technology, financial and legal channels.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and utilizing metrics to improve department or program operations.
- Demonstrated experience creating, implementing, and improving administrative processes in a healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of UC policies and UC Davis Health administrative or contracting processes.
