We provide healthcare consulting and research expertise to optimize decisionmaking for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing life cycle. Clients rely on our expertise, quality standards, and integrity to guide their product development and regulatory and market access strategies. What You'll Do

We are currently looking for a Head of Technology & AI Automation to lead RTIHS's technical strategy and AIenabled innovation across our research and consulting portfolio. In this role you will partner directly with RTIHS leadership to evolve our platforms, data capabilities, and productized solutions that transform scientific expertise into scalable, clientready outcomes.

  • Lead the technology components of RFIs/RFPs/proposals and customer case studies; provide credible solutioning in sales cycles.
  • Inform commercialization-positioning, packaging, pricing, and customer acquisition strategies-and equip business development and research teams with effective collateral and demos.
  • Own the lifecycle of AI and dataenabled products and platforms-from concept and prototyping to launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize a usercentric approach; champion UX best practices and drive adoption through iterative R&D, analytics, and measurement.
  • Develop strategic data and technology partnerships that enhance our client value proposition; coordinate internal collaborations to leverage RTIHS scientific expertise.
  • Oversee architecture, platform reliability, and application delivery, guide technology choices across cloud, data, and AI stacks.
  • Establish engineering standards, securebydesign practices, and delivery governance to ensure quality, scalability, and compliance.
  • Build, mentor, and scale highperforming technical teams; cultivate technical leadership and a culture of experimentation and accountability.
  • Lead change management across a multidisciplinary environment; align stakeholders and communicate progress with clarity and impact.

What You'll Need

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years in life sciences or healthtech environments, including 5+ years leading product/platform innovation for pharmaceutical or healthcare clients.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and technical operations, with a track record of shipping secure, reliable products.
  • Proven leadership of technology strategy and architectural evolution across cloud, data, and AI-balancing build/buy/partner decisions.
  • Handson oversight of architecture, platforms, and applications using modern cloud and AI ecosystems (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS; AEM, Veeva; data partners such as IQVIA Orchestrated Customer Engagement (OCE), Aetion, ConcertAI).
  • Demonstrated success taking digital solutions through the full lifecycle: concept, research, design, development, launch, and adoption.
  • Experience leading and scaling technical teams; strong mentoring and talentdevelopment capability.
  • Financial acumen: budget ownership, forecasting, and commercialization toolkits for productized services.
  • Deep understanding of regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable) and secure development practices.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presence; proven stakeholder influence and crossfunctional collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience integrating emerging AI/ML techniques into research workflows and clientfacing products.
  • Background working with pharmaceutical/biotech sponsors, CROs, or consulting environments.
  • Familiarity with HEOR, RWE, epidemiology, or patientcentered outcomes workflows and the accompanying data assets.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.
