The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. Equipped with the most technologically advanced facilities located on a university campus, the college is dedicated to safeguarding public health by studying emerging infectious diseases that affect both animal and human health.

Position Summary |
This position will interact with internal and external clients to service the rehabilitation of patients within the hospital. In addition to providing animal care via feed, water, walk, transport, restrain, groom. Stock designated area's supplies, maintain clinical records, assure facility cleanliness. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Assist veterinary staff with animal care. |

Prepare the rehab room for the patients in the morning. Clean the rehab equipment and room after each appointment. Clean underwater treadmill, monitor water chemicals, and change water in reservoir. Clean the rehab room at the end of each day (vacuum, mop,
UWTM cleaning, organize treats, slings, equipment, etc). Wash rehab laundry throughout the day. |

Check in clients (put them in rooms, get patient weight, etc). Check out clients (walk to cashier). Assist with patient discharges for multiple services. Assist with client communication and client education on rehab techniques and at-home exercises. Enter charges in VetView. Enter patient progress notes in VetView. Create treatment sheets in Instinct. |

Assist with (and occasional perform on own) in-patient rehab appointments. Assist with (and occasional perform on own) outpatient rehab appointments. Assist with rehab consults: restrain animal, assist with measurements for muscle mass and limb girth, limb range of motion, and weight loss. Fit patients with booties and harnesses. Clean runs and kennels, replace bedding, express bladders, walk, and clean patients. |
