WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
The American Red Cross seeks an experienced Full Stack Lead- Microsoft Technologies to join our Humanitarian Services IT team in supporting applications that help to deliver ARC's Humanitarian Services mission delivery to support disaster response and relief, service to the armed forces and their families, and our international mission. We work directly with our mission partners on the discovery, design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our digital product portfolio.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is 100% virtual. The selected candidate will work remotely from home on an East Coast schedule (8am - 5pm core hours).

Because the position supports the Disaster Cycles Support team, this will require IT application support after hours and on weekends, especially during a period of major disasters.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
* Lead the development aspects of IT projects for humanitarian missions, including analysis, enhancement, installation, testing, and modification of technology solutions. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Work in collaboration with a team of product managers, UX/service designers, business analysts, and business owners to ensure that user stories, scenarios, personas, and problems to be solved are clarified, prioritized, and documented, ensuring that they are ready for development.
* Lead a team of developers and provide coaching and guidance to ensure their success.
* Prepare activity and progress reports for projects, tasks, and operations.
* Manage vendor partnerships for outsourced projects and support work.
* Migrate legacy applications to cloud-first and API-first applications leveraging multiple technologies
* Convert user stories into technical designs and prototypes

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

  • At least 6 years of Microsoft Full Stack Development Experience.

  • At least 2 years of Lead or solution architecture experience.

  • 2+ years of experience working with Azure AI / Cognitive Services / Azure OpenAI

  • Experience managing agile development teams, including sprint planning, user story estimation, prioritization, scrum-based leadership techniques, and retrospectives.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in collaboration and communication with business-led product teams and stakeholders. Ability to build strong partnerships with product owners and managers to act as one product team driving toward mission outcomes

  • Experience in API design, implementation, and/or operations.

  • Experience in .NET development using Entity Framework, web services, and SOA concepts

  • Experience with Git, Confluence, and JIRA.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to explain the design of the system and system architecture.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications):

  • Architect and implement solutions leveraging Azure cloud services (App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB).

  • Integrate and optimize solutions with Azure AI services (Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Language Studio).

* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

PAY INFORMATION:The annual salary range for this position is $130K - $150K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
