A Staff Associate I is needed in the research setting for Myeloma subspecialty program within the Division of Medical Hematology/Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. * Solves problems in moderately complex situations, analyzing possible solutions based on education and experience using judgment and precedent * Work in support of PI and the lab synthesizing information, managing workflows, equipment, programs, and other research tools and processes * Operates and maintains equipment, computers, software programs and research tools in support of the project * Maintain laboratory records, supplies, and samples * Follow protocols and procedures of the laboratory as set by the individual laboratory heads * Summarizes and explains information to others. May contribute to publications * Self-motivated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Should have outstanding organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and be able to work independently as well as within a team * Proactive, attention to detail and willingness to learn * Bachelor's degree in Biology or related science * 1 year of laboratory experience * Must be able to adapt to flexible schedule and fast/changing work environment and have excellent communication skills.
