Job Summary:

VersaTech is seeking a QA Tester to support the deployment of Appian's Government Acquisition Management Suite (GAMS) for a Federal client. The QA Tester will be responsible for validating system functionality, accessibility, and readiness for deployment in a fast-paced, milestone-driver environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring solutions meet Federal standards, Section 508 compliance, and deliver seamless user experiences.


Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.


Location: McLean, VA at Appian Headquarters


Responsibilities:


  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated/manual scripts across GAMS modules.
  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory, performance, and Section 508 accessibility testing to ensure compliance and system readiness.
  • Track, analyze, and manage defects using JIRA/Zephyr, working closely with developers and business analysts to resolve issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with developers during defect triage to ensure timely resolution and re-testing.
  • Support Federal stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions by preparing scenarios, validating results, and capturing feedback.
  • Provide clear and detailed QA reporting, including metrics, defect logs, and risk assessments, to provide leadership and Federal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure testing aligns with Agile sprints, releases, and deployment schedules.
  • Validate end-user training materials by cross-checking against tested functionality and updated features.


Expectations & Milestones:


  • Deliver thorough test coverage with minimal defects escaping into production.
  • Ensure all modules are verified for Section 508 compliance prior to release.
  • Adhere to strict Federal project deadlines and sprint cycles, escalating risks, or blockers early.
  • Provide clear and actionable QA reports that enable timely decision-making by stakeholders.
  • Contribute to achieving project-level goals of on-time, high-quality releases aligned with mission requirements.


Required Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience in Federal IT projects.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and Section 508 testing practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE.
  • Section 508 Trusted Tester certification.
  • Experience testing COTS/workflow solutions, particularly Appian.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium).
