Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supplemental Health - Claims Examiner!

About the role

In this role, you'll be responsible for reviewing and processing a variety of supplemental health insurance claims. These may include critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident products. You'll make timely and accurate decisions based on policy terms, while ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

What you will do



  • Review and process claims efficiently and accurately, using policy documents and procedures to guide decisions.
  • Gather and analyze information from healthcare providers, internal teams, and other sources to support claim adjudication.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues through written and verbal channels.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with your team to support a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide empathetic customer service, resolving issues and building trust with claimants and employers.

Compensation

Hourly Range: $22.00 - $36.23plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who you are:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of relevant claims experience required. 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with solid math and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexible, reliable, and team-focused.
