Allstate Business Title: Business Development Director - Allstate Roadside

Work Scope

  • Reporting to the President, Allstate Roadside (AR), the Business Development Director is responsible for generating profitable growth and increased market share in the B2B roadside assistance marketplace for AR. This role will target market and industry segments by setting the strategic sales strategy and developing, leading, managing and implementing effective tactics, messaging, processes, and programs in the B2B sales channel. With input from the AR Senior Leadership Team, this position will draw on broad functional expertise to lead a team of B2B business development professionals to acquire new business for roadside assistance to meet growth and profitability objectives set forth by the corporate strategic direction.

  • This is a Senior Leadership role, with supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that identifies prospects, develops relationships, negotiates, and closes agreements with new partners across industries that provide roadside assistance to their customers

  • Identify prospects, build relationships, and cultivate opportunities for sale of Allstate roadside products; expected growth targets focus on winning multi-million-dollar accounts within the roadside assistance marketplace

  • Collaborate with Allstate Marketing to develop AR brand awareness in the B2B roadside assistance marketplace, articulate competitive differentiators, and generate positive public coverage across traditional and social media platforms

  • Identify industry events and secure speaking/presentation/engagement opportunities that reinforces AR's brand and leadership in the roadside assistance industry

  • Partner across the AR business, and with other Allstate teams, to win new partnerships with other companies

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of existing products and evolving market needs and work closely across AR to tailor products and services needed for targeted accounts

  • Provide structure and thought leadership to identify and prospect targeted partners at all levels of the organization, including C-level executives

  • Provide thought leadership on the value proposition and competitive differentiation messaging required to win sales

  • Present business opportunities to Senior AR and Allstate leadership. Collaborate on the development of deal pricing, fully understand and articulate deal risk, and influence others to take recommended actions.

  • Lead engagement of key stakeholders in pricing/deal strategy and product/channel offers

  • Upon executing deals and launching the roadside program(s), will manage partner transition from the Business Development to the Partner Solutions (account management) team

  • Research, maintain, and internally share current information on AR's primary competitors

Required skills and experiences

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles within B2B and/or B2B2C segments and indirect channel development

  • 5+ years of direct experience in B2B strategic business development

  • 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive KPIs, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing successful partnership activation strategies that result in tangible outcomes

  • Proven success in both short and longer-cycle, complex enterprise deals and strategic account penetration

  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-impact deals with C-level stakeholders

  • Experience coaching teams to navigate multi-stakeholder sales, build executive relationships, and advance opportunities from early engagement through to high-value deal closure

  • Deep knowledge of partnership models, contract negotiation, and financial implications

  • Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration ensuring alignment on priorities

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels. Ability to interact with a wide variety of behavioral and personality styles effectively and make all feel comfortable, internally, and externally.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop data-driven strategies and track performance.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% or more, as needed.

Preferred skills, and experiences

  • Experience in strategic B2B selling in roadside assistance, automotive OEM, aftermarket OEM, fleet management, and related industries

  • Experience in establishing white-label or co-branding strategic partnerships

Compensation and benefits: This role is equity and sales incentive eligible, along with base salary and benefits.

Compensation offered for this role is $151,760.00 - 208,670.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
