Job Description:

Job Summary:
  • The Ancillary Product Associate Consultant will play a key support role in the execution and operational management of Southwest Airlines' ancillary products, including bags, boarding, seating, and additional services such as unaccompanied minors and pets. This role provides tactical support to the Ancillary Products team, contributing to data analysis, research, reporting, and the coordination of cross-functional tasks. The Associate Consultant works under the guidance of more senior team members to help drive product performance and ensure alignment with Customer expectations and business goals. This position offers a strong foundation for learning airline product management and strategy through hands-on collaboration with key business partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in executing product strategies and initiatives by performing detailed research, coordinating deliverables, and tracking project progress under the direction of senior team members.
  • Support data collection and analysis efforts by building reports, validating performance metrics, and identifying trends in product usage and revenue performance.
  • Contribute to competitive benchmarking and market research efforts by gathering data on industry practices, pricing, and product features to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management, Finance, Digital, CX, and other teams to support the day-to-day operational needs of ancillary products and assist with cross-functional initiatives.
  • Help develop and maintain dashboards and performance reports in tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to ensure accurate tracking of product KPIs.
  • Participate in the creation of business cases and project documentation by gathering data, creating charts, and contributing to PowerPoint presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with tactical go-to-market execution tasks such as preparing content, organizing timelines, coordinating reviews, and ensuring accurate deployment across customer channels.
  • Monitor product-related feedback and work with team members to identify operational or customer pain points and potential enhancements.
  • Prepare meeting materials, take notes, track action items, and support communication efforts across the team and with key business partners.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests and assist with preparing materials for leadership updates and reviews.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interest in learning airline product management and a desire to grow into a more strategic role over time.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with data to identify patterns and contribute to recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools; eagerness to learn and build data and reporting skills.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to take direction, ask questions, and collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Organized and reliable, with a proactive mindset and willingness to take on tasks both big and small.
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience
Experience
  • Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
    • Product management, revenue optimization, or strategic business roles
    • Conducting market research and competitive analysis
    • Project management and cross-functional collaboration
    • Data visualization and performance tracking

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $78,850 per year to $86,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
