The Position

As a Lab Supervisor, you ensure the safety, compliance, and smooth operations of Research and Development laboratories. You oversee and manage the
daily operations and the smooth and efficient functioning of all lab activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting our research and development projects.

The Opportunity
  • Lab Operations and Project Management: Direct and oversee daily laboratory activities and projects, including managing timelines, resource allocation, and team assignments. Serve as the primary contact for internal teams to provide updates on lab needs and project status.

  • Vendor and Resource Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables. Oversee resource budgeting and inventory management to support operational efficiency.

  • Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Develop and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure the lab environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations by conducting regular inspections and audits.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment logs, safety manuals, project documentation, and experimental data. Prepare comprehensive reports on lab performance, project progress, and resource utilization to support strategic decision-making.

  • Equipment Management and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment while tracking equipment usage to anticipate future needs. Train lab personnel on proper equipment use and care to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team to ensure safety protocols remain compliant. Partner with the facilities team to coordinate equipment installations and infrastructure needs. Work closely with other departments to provide lab support for cross-functional projects.

Who You Are
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-experience.

  • You bring 1-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting.

  • 6-8 years of experience working in an IVD GLP/ISO regulated laboratory environment is desirable

  • Strong knowledge of lab safety procedures and best practices.

  • Experience in audits, knowledgeable in requirements and controls for IVD product development lab, (e.g. ISO 13485, GLP, GDP) or similar regulated lab environment

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience with lab information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position, based on Solana Beach CA, is $66,600 - $105,500 Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
