ROLE SUMMARY:

To continue our rapid growth, Quanterix is seeking a talented and highly motivated Vice President, Operations to join our leadership team. This critical role will lead our Operations, Supply Chain and Facilities/Safety organizations, encompassing Procurement, Planning, Warehousing/Inventory Control, Global Logistics, up and downstream manufacturing, kitting, technical operations & product transfer.
The VP, Operations will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and play a key role in shaping and scaling our operational capabilities. This is a highly visible role that will collaborate across all functions and product lines to ensure operational excellence, uninterrupted supply, and enterprise-level scalability to meet evolving business needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Supply Chain Leadership


  • Develop and execute a long-term, scalable Supply Chain strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the global Supply Chain team across functions including Procurement, Planning, Logistics, and Warehousing.
  • Drive Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process improvements to support demand forecasting and operational planning.
  • Ensure fulfilment of global supply milestones for Quanterix's menu of Assay Reagents, Instruments, and Consumables.
  • Build and manage KPIs and metrics to monitor supply chain performance and ensure continuity of material supply for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee global contract manufacturing and packaging and contribute to the development of enterprise resource planning (ERP) capabilities and third-party logistics solutions. Partner with Product Management and cross-functional leaders to ensure commercial supply readiness for product launches and lifecycle management. Establish and maintain effective, executive-level relationships with key suppliers and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).


Manufacturing Leadership


  • Develop and lead a comprehensive operations strategy to support manufacturing scale-up, technical operations, and efficient product transfer from development to commercial manufacturing.
  • Oversee internal and external manufacturing operations to ensure consistent, high-quality, and cost-effective production of instruments, reagents, and consumables.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to support technology transfer, process validation, and commercialization of new products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes and systems to increase operational efficiency, throughput, and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and monitor manufacturing KPIs, including yield, cycle time, OEE, and cost of goods sold (COGS), ensuring operational excellence and scalability.
  • Ensure alignment of technical operations with product lifecycle strategies, including support for product updates, obsolescence planning, and version control.


Distribution & Logistics Leadership


  • Design and execute global distribution strategies to optimize the flow of finished goods from manufacturing sites and warehouses to customers, distributors, and partners.
  • Oversee third-party logistics providers (3PLs), ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) meet delivery, accuracy, and cost expectations.
  • Ensure compliant and efficient global distribution of temperature-sensitive and regulated products in alignment with international trade, customs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and track logistics KPIs-including on-time delivery, order accuracy, and transportation cost efficiency-driving improvements in customer service and operational performance.
  • Partner with Commercial, Customer Service, and regional operations teams to ensure fulfillment readiness for new product launches and market expansions.
  • Lead risk management initiatives to proactively address supply disruptions, transportation bottlenecks, and inventory imbalances


Facilities and Safety Leadership


  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for facilities management, ensuring infrastructure supports current and future business needs.
  • Oversee environmental health and safety (EHS) programs to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability across all sites.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to workplace safety, hazardous materials, and environmental impact.
  • Manage facility expansion, renovations, and maintenance projects to support business growth while maintaining business continuity.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

20+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare sector.

10+ years of proven management experience, including leadership of broad teams in complex or regulated environments.

Professional certifications such as APICS, ISM, or CSCMP are a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven track record of executive-level leadership in Supply Chain, Operations, or related disciplines.

Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, ideally within a regulated life sciences environment (Syteline experience preferred).

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies for sourcing, logistics, and supply planning within a global framework.

Ability to lead large, matrixed teams and drive cross-functional alignment across a dynamic and fast-paced organization.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to present operational performance and strategy to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.

Strong understanding of outsourcing processes, purchasing standards, QA, legal, and finance policies.

Familiarity with cold chain distribution and global logistics practices is highly desirable.

Strategic mindset with strong analytical and financial acumen to support decision-making.

  • Partner with executive leaders in R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial to align operations with long-term product and business strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with executive-level partners, suppliers, CMOs, and 3PLs to ensure resilience, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Drive organizational transformation and large-scale change management initiatives to improve operational performance and scalability.
  • Utilize data-driven insights, financial acumen, and KPI oversight to optimize end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing performance.
  • Oversee global risk management and business continuity strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational resilience.
  • Provide executive oversight of workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and facilities strategy to support business growth and employee well-being.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
