Position Summary:
Deliver products to a designated customer base within a geographic area. The Route Service Representative (RSR) is required to deliver clean linens and/or products and collect/sort returned soiled items for laundering. RSRs will build string customer relationships with product users and decision-makers by providing exceptional service and routinely resolving customer issues by identifying satisfactory solutions. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with a physically demanding, customer-facing position.
Position Responsibilities:
Available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary to be able to meet our customer's needs.?
Safe lifting of packages, pushing and pulling linen carts, and loading and unloading of company vehicles.
Years of Experience, Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
1-3 years preferred DOT certification.
Valid and current Maryland Class C Driver's License.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Safe driving record
Clear and effective communication with customers, team members, and management
Flexibility with work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
Attention to detail.
Ability to do physical counts, add, and subtract.
Work Environment:
Up To Date Laundry is one of the largest commercial laundries on the East Coast servicing hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, D.C., and Virginia. We provide a full service to our customers from pickup to delivery. Our dedicated staff of laundry associates, drivers, and maintenance technicians, as well as administrative and management teams, ensure the delivery of hygienically clean laundry, year-round. Candidates must be comfortable working outside in inclement weather, handling soiled garments, and delivering products to a variety of separate locations.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and drive company vehicles, climb up and down out of the vehicle, stand and walk throughout the shift while loading and unloading company vehicles, use their arms and hands to reach and grasp carts of clean linen to move them on and off company vehicles, talk and communicate to customers, co-workers, and supervisors both in person and on a company-provided cell phone, actively listen while driving the company to drive safely, and visually recognize certain items while driving as well as certain items about the load/cargo on company vehicles. Be able to push carts weighing up to 600 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Able to use and understand how to manage inventory on a handheld phone.
