This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation. Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. Joins metal parts to form a permanent bond. Welds metal components and parts using standard specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches and may also utilize friction stir welding (FSW) methods using solid-state joining. Uses electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals. Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications. Set up and operate large, motion-controlled machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles. Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches. As part of a hardworking team of experts, you will manufacture and assemble large-scale hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated. This is a frontline, hands-on hardware, tank production, and assembly technician role. We are looking for technicians to operate various robotic equipment, perform overhead crane moves of tooling and flight hardware, conduct manual blending operations, operate fixture tooling, and execute precision drilling for internal tank installations.
